yanks, your xm works mounted in the rear dash? i read that the satellite antennas have to be mounted on the outside of the car. i was thinking i didn't want it because i didn't want anything on the outside of the car.

if you live in a heavy repeater network, you can get away with it, your just listening to the terrestial feed vs the sat. feed, but once you travel out of that network, your done

hey even on the roof, going through the hill you probably still lose the signal here and there, the feed back i get from alot of customers is that the Sirius feed is much better, (should be considering they use geo-sync'd and xm uses geo stationary)

I called tech support and they insisted it needed to be on the roof and they even said that if it was on a convertible i would need a 2 sq foot sheet of aluminium to reflect the signal. I don't have a conv. but according to them i would need the aluminium even on the inside. It works PERFECT. I went from northern NJ to Newark, DE -- no trouble at all. I live in a very hilly area and still no trouble. I'll keep you posted. Sirus maybe better but XM is much more widely supported and i didnt need to do FM modulation

as fas as xm being widely accepted, people rarely come in and ask for it, we do a lot of sirius. also xm is in some trouble right now, they have enough money to keep afloat and are taking on more and more commercial stations, and what the hell could playboy be offering over the radio for an extra 2 bucks?
