now bbq bob and me have tried 2 different octane levels, bob went with 93 octane, and i went with 94.2 octane, bob blew his knock sensors rite away, i still have the original stock knock sensors, never blown one, its the octane level, our engines really like the 94+ octane, now that im at 7 psi, the meth kit is a must, never run under 94 octane, for 5psi-6psi, or >>I'm a douche<< will break, if you want the recipe for making your own 94.2 let me know, as for how long the engine will last, i dont know, it does have 160k on it, i'll find out one way or another, if i was you i'd wait and see what happens to mine........................... :drinking:

great numbers man! first 300whp mark break!

I have to wait until spring, then I'll slap on my meth kit and shoot for the 300 as well...should be pretty doable....then maybe more boost and shoot for 350 and then I'm done.

I think that our motors can handle 300whp for a decent while....maybe a couple of years, but longevity- questionable.

I wouldn't expect it to last too long at 350 though...but whatever....a new motor's around 500bucks, and then scale back the boost a bit, and call it a day :p

That is pretty sweet Frank! It's my goal to reach your numbers. 160k miles stock motor and running 7psi? That's reassuring. My motor is around 160k as well.

Whats your exhaust set up?

I've got some OBX headers, SRI intake, and I'm getting some stuff from Gabe (S/C, cat-back, jim's fuel mod) and I'm going to get an SAFC, ported TB and lightweight pulley, CAI extension.

I can't wait to install all of it and see how much hp I squeeze out of my car. I'm going to be running 4psi for awhile first though. Eventually I want to step it up.

Nice! Do you have any videos up of your ride? Cardomain?

go with the whole obx exhaust, headers, & catback, also i dont think i could have got those #'s with the apexi, the split second allows the tuner to mess with the timing, also the light weight crank pully, & fadanza flywheel let the engine rev much easier, and im using an injen short ram intake, hers a vid from the last track event, its a fly by, its the second car
Image , this was at 6psi no meth, you need to turn up the volume....... :drinking:

Sweet videos Frank. I haven't heard of this "split second" thing-a-mabob before. I'm going to start researching it now though. I haven't gotten the Apexi yet (came close a couple times), so it's not too late.

edit: My goal is to enter in the 2011 One Lap of America competition, so any mods I can do by that time I'm going to look into.

^the split second has been around for quite some time but not a lot of people use it because of the fact that not a lot of people really know about it and what it's benefit's are.

That a really good reason why Frank hit the 300 mark, i doubt an safc can be able to reach that power.

So if someone wants to reach these nice numbers invest a little more money and get yourself a split second if you ever come accross one.

They are difficult to find but when you do i suggest to not let it pass.
