I know they do great work but I was quoted over $600 for just labor! Thats a bit much imo. What projector are you going with? How much is it running you?

$600 just for an HID retrofit....you guys should check out CINCITY...they do SICK work! They quoted be 700 for my gen2 headlights with R8 style LED lighting strip, HID retrofit, Halo's and painted housings. If you youtube cincity their work will come up.

Yep, that was $605 just to put the projectors and shrouds that I send them into the headlights that I also send them. That does not include the shipping back to me either.

So for me, the total would have been ~$1230 for a single projector retrofit.
No doubt they are great guys and they do great work, I just cant justify spending 1/5th of the total value of my car on headlights. So, rather than not get the performance of the projectors, I'll do the work myself.

I am very interested in seeing your retro though. I'm sure it will be sick.

I have also seen cincity's work and they also do great things.

my total is a bit higher than xavier's quote because i'm also getting ccfl (angel eyes) and the LED strip included. I'm ashamed to say the total cost but you guys can figure it out.

Xavier,

I got the S2K projectors. I also wanted to mention that I admire your dedication in building your own set of projector lights. I just don't have the time but wished that I could. =(

They do beautiful work. If you look under Sequoia's, mine is the black one with the LS460 bi-xenon headlights. Worth every penny to have it perfect.

I have questioned myself more than a few times doing this project myself. I had actually gotten the projectors mounted and tested everything and I was in such a hurry to test them on the roads that I kinda rushed through "pass 1". I installed them on the car and went to church last saturday night. Boy where they aimed wrong!!! The rotation was good, the left/right was good but the cutoff was about 12 ft in the air at about 30 feet no lie. It was so high that I couldnt even see the cutoff while driving! I know I blinded EVERYONE and it was pretty embarrassing for me but I could still see so much better than stock.

Right now, mine are remounted and ready for lens off testing at 25ft on a wall. Im gonna do it right this time!

Anyways, cant wait to see yours done with the s2k's!

O wow! I only paid 450 and that was only because he kinda created a shroud that looks factory looking like i requested. But i had tsx projectors and that is what he works with. My labor was only $350. If you drive a gen 1.5 like i did then have your fingers crossed. It will be a tight fit. I was originally was going to go with Caesars TFX suggestion but he tried it and found out the projector wouldn't fit in our housing properly. I'm waiting on my new headlights for the Land Cruiser to come in so caesar can get me going. I'm trying to stick the lexus ls430 projectors because of the ridiculously wide light output. I can't find any right now but i might settle for second place and go with Honda S2000 projectors.

Check with Matt @ The Retrofit Source. That is who I got my LS460 bi-xenon setup including clear lens, bulbs, wiring harness, ballasts, etc from total $550 shipped to Ceaser. Total parts and labor including install, color matching paint inside the headlight, etc was $1200, but only the best will do for my Sequoia Platinum
