Gauging Interest in TRD4life Strut bar to clear TRD S/C

Postby trd4life » Tue Feb 16, 2010 6:55 pm

I cannot post any prices until i figure out how many people are in . I am making a batch of custom front strut tower braces to clear the TRD S/C. These will come bare metal , probably mild steel. You will have to paint them or powdercoat them if you want it to look fancy. These will be very "similar" to the TRD brace. If you have a TRD supercharger, and are missing the brace and looking to pick one up, please add your name to the list.

thanks

I would be interested if the price is reasonable. Consider me on the list Gabe. :sweet:

If you can get enough people to make it a reasonable price, I'm definately in as well.

If my generic brand eBay-bought Option Import one doesn't clear the S/C I'm totally down for one.

Then again my Option Import strut tower bar doesn't even clear my intake now...

^ ONLY the TRD one will clear the SC Thomas. No aftermarket ones will.

I think the JIC one clears, but it may be discontinued.

Thanks ASG14.

Well in that case, count me in! As you know Gabe I'm pretty much exhausting my resources right now getting this S/C set up, but I will undoubtedly want a front strut tower bar so I'm totally down even if it's not for a couple months before I can get to it on my list of mods to purchase.

^ Glad your finally joining the dark side! Only other thing you need now is the Torque Rod, but for all I know you already bought one from me....memory blows.

Really? Then thats the only other one then. Even most of the cheap Ebay braces barely clear the stock intake plenum, lol.

Yeah i think the JIC and the TRD are the only one's that clear

a while back ago i went to a shop and they were selling me a JIC one brand new in the box for a 120 bucks.

Didnt have the money back then since i was really young and had just bought the car so i didnt buy it.

Now that i look back i should have lol

So when you say your "making" them, do you mean you are actually machining and welding the steel together and etc......

I'm interested. Even though I'm currently running that neat dual-tube brace that came off Dat's/your old car, it'd be nice to have something with S/C clearance (and the ability to customize it).
