So, almost since when my TWM short shifter was installed and the shifter cable bushings were replaced with brass ones and the shifter bushings themselves were replaced with solid ones, I will have a hard time downshifting into fourth from fifth.

At first I thought I just had to get used to it but it still is annoying. If I wait long enough between shifts it will be more eager to downshift but even rev matching doesn't do much so I don't think it's a synchro issue. Going from third to fourth is fine. My friend watched my shift linkage on the tranny as I shifted it in the garage and he noted that when going from fifth to fourth that both shifter levers engage so it's working harder.

I don't know if this is just the result of the firmer bushings or if anything can be adjusted? Or hell, I've read where guys with autos notice harder shifting with Jim's torque rod if not adjusted right. Could mine be contributing in some way? Anyone else experienced anything like this? Downshifting and upshifting for other gears is fine and my synchros don't grind when going into fourth from fifth, just stubborn as hell to engage.
