Here is a link to the tint laws of each state:

http://www.tintcenter.com/laws/

You must be careful not to go too dark, my dad got a $90 ticket for that.

I have a friend from work who just got a 90 dollar ticket PER WINDOW for his tint... hes also got 20 inch chrome rims which scream "pull me over"

On my old 2002 Yukon, we had 5% tint all around, and didnt sell the truck till 2008 and was never pulled over for it :)

I had 5 percent all around and 15 percent on the windshield and got a few tickets but it was well worth it. I'd say go as dark as possible as long as you are comfortable with it.

WOW thats crazy, but my solara is mostly stock on the exterior, hopefully that will be to my advantage. Im thinking of going with 20% or so.. 35 seems to light but if it was up to me i would have 5 all the way around.

By the way i know this isn't the introductions thread. but my name is Ryan, ive been looking at this site for about a year, forgot my old username and password i had. If i can be any help to anything on here ill be sure to put my .02.
Great site by the way, 100,000 miles and still running strong here im sure ill be around for a while

When my dad was ticketed, he was driving his 2003 Honda Accord EX V6, my dad's good explaination skills saved his hide at the court hearing. The judge dismissed the case after seeing photos of the Accord with the tint removed on the Front driver and passenger side windows.

makes me want to put it at 20% even more... i have enough court in the next couple months for some bs i dont need any more..

I should be safe using 20% right? i had a trailblazer before i bought my solara and it was at 15 i believe for all of them except front sides and windshield and i never heard anything or got pulled over. (law is 35% here)

Also i think im leaning towards the titanium.. almost a mirror finish tint, but not sure what would look best on my dark green sle

Mirror finish is more expensive, I would jsut go with the traditional black tint (it would look better on your car anyway).

HOW DARK CAN WINDOW TINT BE IN MARYLAND?

Darkness of tint is measured by Visible Light Transmission percentage (VLT%). In Maryland, this percentage refers to percentage of visible light allowed in through the combination of film and the window.

Windshield Non-reflective tint is allowed on the top 5 inches of the windshield.
Front Side Windows Must allow more than 35% of light in.
Back Side Windows Must allow more than 35% of light in.
Rear Window Must allow more than 35% of light in.

20% is definitely illegal in your state lol.

I know i have seen cars around here with windows blacked out.. ive even seen a few with the front windsheild tinted  i guess if i went with 35 the glass already blocks some light so it would actually be darker

The car's window is already tinted to some degree from the factory, when the cop checked my dad's Accord, he got like a 17% tint even though my dad used 20% tint on the windows.

DO not go 35 waste of money in Baltimore md . my gen one i had 15s all around and got pulled over after 2 years . my gen2 i now have 20s all around. Best place to go is Hp racing in glen burnie good prices and do a amazing job on their tint work. i recommend 20s

I got 35% tint all around, even though it's illegal in NJ to have the front two windows tinted. It doesn't attract too much attention because cops can still see head movement.

I've been pullled over once in the last 5 years for it. And the cop was like, "you lucky I'm cool and you're with your girl, I'll let you slide, just roll them down when you around here."

Ruski's req on tint location is good, they redid my tint at a lighter percentage (12 to 29%). On our dark green cars, a dark tint just matches perfectly...epically 20% and less.

Those pictures are with 20% that translated into 12% via tickets...
