Rubbing Issue

Postby black99 » Sun Jan 10, 2010 9:34 pm

Hey everybody, after I lowered on Tokico/Tein's this summer, I got an alignment recently and have since had an issue with my rear tires rubbing really bad on the inside. Has anyone else had this problem? If so, how did you fix it? I think I might need a camber kit but I am running a 265 tire and think I could just go with a smaller tire. I was also thinking of picking up some gen 2 wheels soon now that I have to get new tires anyways.

Any thoughts?

Yea thats what I thought. I knew it was the fact that Im running a monster tire. If I can pick up some gen 2's, whats the usual that everyone runs. Ive been searching and it seems like 225 is the highest

Dude, we thought you were running 265/??/15. You are
running a 205/65/15 I'm pretty sure that's the factory size.
So yeah, where is the rubbing?
Trust me, I'm a technician.

If he is rubbing, there is some badly bent suspension parts.

thats what im thinking because there is no way in hell that a tire that small is going to rub even if he's lowered.

The wheel looks to be a lot more flush with the fender than the stock wheels usually are- are you running spacers? If it is rubbing the fender lip, just give it a roll and you should be all set. If that is in fact where it is rubbing, I would do that way before I would buy a camber kit, assuming your camber is withing factory specs. That's my two cents...

I really don't think he needs new wheels... that isn't going to solve the issue, unless he runs super small tires... which opens up more problems.
