? Oil Filter Relocation Kit 1MZFE ?

Hey guys, I did a search and came up with nothing. So I'll ask.
Is there a company that makes oil filter relocation kits for the 1mz?
Or anything that would fit or is adaptable to fit the 1mz?
Does anyone know of or have a filter relocation kit?

Thanks,

Ben, 99BlackSandv6

yes, greddy gas one if I remember correctly, but it was really expensive- but it did come with tapped holes to add sensors right on the adaptor (at the block) itself that could be used

otherwise, transdapt (www.transdapt.com) carries a relocation kit as well as sandwhich adaptor if you're looking for one

I have a transdapt kit because it's a lot cheaper and it gets the job done. only downside was that the seal on my adaptor at the block went bad and would leak on my first one, so I took the easy way out and picked up a new kit to replace it

I moved my filter to beside my tow-hook on the passenger-side of my front bumper- it's an easy location to get to, and it becomes a natural oil cooler since it's right behind my bumper vent. My oil temp actually goes down 10-20F when my car's moving. I'll be adding and actual oil cooler for track this coming summer though.

as an added benefit, it also adds about a 1qt capacity to your motor oil- theoretically a bit more stress on your oil pump, but more thermal cooling capacity

Thanks, that's the info I was looking for. Do you have any pics of the kit or where you mounted it?

Just curious with the oil filter relocation kit if any of you run a large filter? I don't have the relocation kit, but I run a K&N HP 2009, which is larger than the HP-1002, I figure you could run something even a bit bigger should you have the filter relocated.

yup, I've ran the toyota sized v8 filter, which is basically the same filter, but just about an inch longer

but it made no difference, and on my other 1mz's without the relocation kit, it made it even harder to take out around the fan shroud, so I stopped using it since I use all the same filters for all 4 of my cars
