'04 Solara T.S.B. issued!

Postby Blazed04 » Sat Oct 18, 2003 7:21 am

Yeah everyone, i shouldve posted this sooner when i frist saw this thread, so anyways...ive got the SE Sport with the 17's and the bridgestone tires. I also find that from a dead stop when i accelerate, my car pulls to the left, and also while driving at almost all speeds my car pulls left also. So...while my dad was getting his truck serviced at the dealership that i got my car from, i had him ask about any TSB's issued for the 04 solara. He's friends with the owner and he went onto the website right infront of my dad, and proved that there were no TSBs yet. SO :-? ....whats to do??

I did make an appointment and told them this. They downloaded the 04 data, did the alignment, said that the camber was off and...
it is still pulling left... :o :o :o

bad bad Toyota

Postby bigpow » Tue Oct 21, 2003 12:04 pm

I hate to say this since my 04 sola is just about 3 weeks old, but I think this model suffers from some serious build quality.
I know why only us customers can tell/sense that the car pulls to the left - dealer with their "super" computers, they only do blind adjustments since it cost them too much to be helpful

I'd count this toward the lemon law... if the car pulls to the left, fixed (or at least that's what they say), and then does it again... that's two counts, then if it happens again, well, it's a lemon car!

I hate to do car research again... it took me quite sometime to decide on this car

Wow...I'm just really glad that I'm fortunate that I don't have this problem.

TSB

Postby samster » Wed Oct 22, 2003 5:45 am

Buckeyegirl what is your dealers name? I am taking mine in tomorrow to get fixed. If they say there isnt a TSB I want them to call your dealer. I will let you all know what happens. Mine is pulling hard to left and I have steering wheel vibration at 70-75 mph.

TBS

Postby samster » Wed Oct 22, 2003 10:08 am

No rattles. My only complaint is the pull and the vibration. I am sure the vibration is a bad balancing. The pull worries me because of this confussion on wether there is a TBS or not. I have a friend with an SE and he doesnt have the rattle or the pull so it must be an SLE thing.

samster- just today on the way home, my car started vibrating too! it was better 65 & 75. i looked at the passanger seat and saw it shaking as well. what the hell is up with these cars. Also for no reason my alarm started going off twice in 2 hours. Also my tire presure light keeps going on for no reason because sicnce it first did, im checkin my tire pressure and it stays constant. I made an appointment for Friday morn. So please get back to us with what your dealer said. Thanks a lot ~ dave

The tire pressure sensor is having quite a lot of problems on other car brands too I have heard. Basically this sensor was legislated for all 2004 cars so it is on every make.

samster, My dealer's name is Jim White Toyota, Toledo,OH. www.whitecars.com
I am still waiting for a call that the parts are in to get this problem resolved. Dealers service invoice say's 1 degree of positive camber.
I've since picked up a new rattle up on the dashboard at the base of the windshield area. I think it's the little bubble light sensor for auto headlights.
