How can I tell if I have a JBL system, first gen Solara

I have a first run 99 solara and I want to change out the receiver
it has been many years so I dont remember
but How can I tell if I have a JBL system and does it matter?

my car has the two tweeters on the doors near the sideview mirrors
but the receiver was a plain black CD/casette DD, I dont remember it having JBL stickers

The only difference that it would make is in the wiring harness, correct?
I need to by pass the mini JBL amplifier wired to the speakers?

It should have JBL emblems on the speaker grills. Maybe on the radio too. I'm not positive, but, I'm pretty sure JBL wasn't an option for the '99s.

my solara is a 99 and it has the JBL system in it, so like BLACK V6 said there should be JBL emblems on the speaker grills and sticker on the stereo.

i think i have the jbl premium sound

in a 99 sle

i may be wrong, but i think i remember seeing the jbl logos on my rear deck lid speaker grills

but i def don't have a 7pcs system, no 'mini sub' if there indeed was one with the jbl...just the two tweets, the two front doors, and the two rear deck lids.

i am probly wrong, i just remember reading somewhere that it is a 7 speaker system, all i see in mine is 2 front 2 rear and 2 tweeters up front, i assumed there was some kind of sub because i was thinking 7 speaker system, but
wkbrdr91 may be right, in a "home theater" setup the sub counts as .1 ill look for a 7th speaker or sub tomorrow, but i did notice today that my 02 sle has jbl printed on the in-dash 6 disc changer and it is also on the 2 front speaker grills (not the tweeters). will try to get more info and remember where i got "7speakers" from.

ive got a 97 and have the JBL system. Look on your deck, it should have the JBL emblem somewhere. If not, look under/behind your glove compartment and to the very right you'll see the JBL amp if you've got it. If not, then standard system it is
