You have a trunk BUTTON and it's in the glovebox, on the left edge.

Wow! That's a neat place to put the big trunk button....inside the little
trunk. I had a 1966 Oldsmoble 98 that had the trunk button inside the
glove box, but it was vacuum operated; so, after a few uses, it had to be
activated by restarting the car. :D jimmm

Took me 15 minutes the first time to find the button. Stupidest idea ever.

When I first sat in the Gen 2 Solara, I figured out how to open the trunk by pulling the little lever that is next to the driver's seat.

I like how there is no keyhole on the trunk, it gives it a clean look.

The reason they put the trunk release in the glove box is so you can lock the trunk and lock the release in the the locking glove box....but you have to lock the seats too in order to completely fortify the trunk. It's a "simple" process.
Trust me, I'm a technician.
