The AC Delco Ultraguard Gold filters are absoultely the best filter made (MSRP $21 ea.) and according to an independent lab tests, they will trap particles from 8 to 10 microns with a flow efficency rate of 98%. The Ultraguard filters are available for Chevrolet Corvettes, using UPF48R, UPF44 filters. The UPF53 for Chryslers and UPF52 for Cadillacs, 4x4 S10 Blazers, and Turbo Buicks. Initially, the AC Delco Ultraguard Gold and Mobil 1 filters were designed for extended oil changes using synthetic oil on the modern EPA friendly vechicles. Mobil 1 filters are nearly as good as AC Delco Ultraguard Gold filters and trap particles as small as 15 - 20 microns. All oil filters are made by Champion Labs, Inc. (not the spark plug company).

For what it's worth, I bought two of the new AC Gold (or whatever they're
called) filters last week. They were UPF2s, the standard large filter
(equivalent to a NAPA 1515 or a Fram PH8A or a Motorcraft FL-1A) that fits
just about everything made since God's own Plymouth(*).
When I got home, I took one out of the box, chucked a reinforced cutoff
wheel into my dremel tool, and cut the filter case in half
circumferentially.
Uh...*wow*. I've been cutting this-size filters apart for many years,
from many brands, and this one is convincingly the best-built unit I've
ever done. All of the materials have a definite high quality look and
feel, the anti-drain and overpressure relief valves are well designed and
robustly constructed, and the overall assembly is immaculate--no spilt
glue, no extraneous protrusions or sloppy trim jobs, no spurious wire ties
or bits of string.

AC Delco Ultraguard Gold Plus is number 1, Mobil 1 is number 2 and Purolater 1 is number 3. You need to look at efficiency and micron rating of the filter.
For example:
AC filter is a 7 micron filter.
K&N is 10 - 20 micron filter.

I hesitate to mention this because I don't want to rain on anyone's parade here -- and I certainly don't want to start a long debate on which oil filter is the "best" -- but there are better single-use oil filters available.
If you're willing to deviate from Honda on this, you may want to consider the ACDelco Ultraguard Gold Oil Filter. I know what you're going to say: "How could GM make a quality anything?" But somehow this slipped past the bureaucrats and is considered one of if not the best single-use oil filters on the market.
Typically it is not stocked in auto parts stores and must be special ordered.

The Mobil 1 and Ultraguard filter are NOT identical filters. Both are/were made by Champion Labs, however
the Ultraguard Gold uses a fully synthetic media and the Mobil 1 uses a blended media. The Ultraguard
Gold has a single pass efficiency of 98% at 8 microns, while the Mobil 1 is rated at 98% at 10 microns.
So the filters are close in efficiency however because of the fully synthetic media the Ultraguard flows
better.
Just Got em in! A box of 6 for $22 ...DELIVERED

They are the exact same size as stock filter, so they're around 3/4" smaller than the Lexus filter I showed. Thing is....they're the BEST filters ever made. These were discontinued around 9 years ago and have been *in storage* for some time. They have FULL synthetic element and teflon coated gasket. Got them from a GM /Chevy dealership that specializes in stocking parts no longer made.
Ultraguard on left.. Regular Duraguard in middle..Pure One on right
