when i have read other members stories of all these recent accidents, they have not been able to or it will greatly reduce the value of your claim

Unless they are aware before the accident that you have aftermarket parts on your car and they are covered by your policy (in the case of my Sequoia for about $3500 in aftermarket parts I pay $50 extra a year) than it will not reduce the value of the claim, however it will not increase it either, the payout is based on a stock vehicle.

With my Solara I was able to pull the things off that did not increase the value, but......they had to be replaced with the stock parts, i.e. I took off my after market wheels but had to replace them with stock (gave them back bald tires though), removed my supercharger but just bolted the intake plenum back, etc. I think the only thing I didn't/couldn't replace was the TRD suspension. I still got more for it than I paid b/c I bought the Solara for a steal.

I don't know if I mentioned it before but you should really buy mine if yours is totalled. You're getting a real cherry, honest to G-d.

Those pics of the Solara are sad to look at. Glad to hear that your okay though. The interior seems to be pretty much in tact minus the airbags. Your front grill is the cleanest one I've seen on this forum where the silver hasn't chipped and it looks to still be in good condition after taking that type of impact.
