My Toyota manual says 3156 the parts stores i have checked all told me 3157. And, the 3156 doesn't even fit in the socket, error in the toyota manual?

i'm pretty sure it's 3157.

i think 3156's are only ONE filament. our tail/brake lights are dual filament, meaning they light up with parking lights and flash brighter when the brake is pressed.

3157- dual circuit

Same as the front turn signal/parking lights
They work the same way as the tail/brake lights

When you turn on your headlights your tails and corners come on.
Then cuz its a dual circuit it gets brighter when you tap the brakes.
Same as the corners. When you turn on your signals it flashes brighter to indicate a turn.
