Looking for Price Opinions on my Car...

Postby BLACK V6 » Thu Oct 22, 2009 5:56 pm

Well, I'm planning on sticking with Toyota (sorta) and have been looking into buying a Lexus IS300. I'm dying to have a manual transmission and the Auto Solara just isn't cuttin' it. Could I have some opinions on what I migt be able to get outta my car? Any help would be appreciated. I plan on staying here at SG though. Anyways:

Its a 1999 V6 SE Auto w/ 143K on it. Mobile 1, New Brakes, Lowered, TSW wheels, TRD lip fronts, upgraded infinity stereo, leather, HIDs, ect.

Here she is:

Also, if anyone is interested feel free to hit me up.

^Thanks. My paintwork isn't the best though :/. I was hoping 5K at the best... I'm definitely not gonna let anyone "steal" it from me though. Thanks for your input.

i'd agree, price depends on the buyer. the lower end of the range for someone who doesn't care for/about the upgrades, the higher end for someone who is looking for exactly what you have. for reference i just paid 6k for mine, 2002 sle v6 loaded with 6 disc in dash, digital climate controls, sunroof, all leather and 105k miles. i got a deal though, the bank valued the car over 9k :D

Yeah and I'm really not sure where or how to sell it either... I'm one of those "I-want-it-now" kinda people and that just doesn't work in this situation... I was thinking of selling it either on here or maybe eBay. I guess I could craigslist it too...

Maybe you can source yourself a 5spd lara. I don't know how things are in your area, but here the IS300's are holding their value very well....so they're not cheap...especially when they're stick.

I already figured the 5 speed swap to be out. From what i've seen on here that is a PITA to do. And also, I was planning on using my sources to get the IS. My dad is a dealer so I would just buy one at a dealer only auction. But as for my car, I'm just scared I won't get enough to fulfill the price of an IS. I just hope that Jet is right... :-?

Try and get 4500 out of it at the least, drop a down payment on an IS300 and pick up a note if you want it badly enough.

I would gladly take that advice but I'm only 17 and my dad makes me pay for any car I wanna buy IN FULL. No borrowing SH*T. So anyways... lol.

Keep the Solara, save more money, and in a few years you can buy a 2005 IS300.

Haha. That would be the mature thing to do. But I'm literally DYING to have a manual. I don't think I can make mature decisions right now... :drinking:
