Camber kit install ?

Camber kit install ?

Postby GreenSolara01 » Mon Oct 19, 2009 4:23 pm

I am trying to figure out the right way to put in camber bolts.
It's an SPC kit. I put one FL wheel and it looked kind of funny so I took it off to seek some advice.

I'm probably over thinking it, but the instructions suck and defy logic.

The instructions say to put the small tab in line with the cam on the bolt, but wouldn't it work better and achieve a better adjustment if it was opposite the cam?

Also, it says to be careful to keep the cam and tab in line while adjusting. Why?

Any help would be a great help.

I have the SPC Kit as well.

As soon as I get my CV half shaft installed and the knuckle and wheel back on Im just gona get a pro to install when I get it re-aligned.

Is yours for the replacement of the 17mm upper strut spindle bolt???
I have the 81290 and it adjusts up to 1.75 degrees positive or negative.

I agree the instructions are kinda blah. From what it says, install large tab out for positive camber or in away from wheel for negative camber. This is why I am gona leave it up to my alignment guy.

Thats the one.

I was just going to have a shope do it to but it was going to be $90. I have a lifetime allignment deal with them and thats the only reason I go there.

The bolts are a little strange, they are different sizes from one side to the other. and smaller then OE. the rear ones are allot smaller.

Post some pics of what you are looking at and maybe we can help you out... I can't imagine needing to pay someone to install them, but I have never actually seen what a camber kit looks like- it's pretty much just a replacement bolt for the top spindle to lower strut bolt, isn't it?

The install I dont see to be a problem, other than which way does the bolt head go. Also, which way the tab goes is the problem. That and once its installed your gona need the alignment guy to adjust proper camber.
