My brake light indicator always turns on when i get the car over 40 mph. DOes anyone have any idea why this happens, and any advice on how to fix it??

its caused by two things

1. Emergency brake
2. low fluid

id check your brake fluid first to make sure its at the proper level.

also check the emergency brake to make sure its fully off

if its not either of them it could be a faulty or loose switch switch

before topping off fluid check brake pads. its happened to me.... you top off the fluid, then two weeks later you go to put new pads on, and when you compress the piston in the caliper your overflowing the master cylinder and making a big mess.

hah same thing happening to me except it started doing it after the s/c install. usually on cold days or when i floor it. s15lara, we gotta meet up sometime.. i really wanna see that car =P maybe u can help diagnose the damn problems i keep having too.
are avalons supposed to be this fast?
