We're trying to remove the driver side door panel to install the new mirror, but it won't come off! we've removed 6 screws already but its like the door handle or something, is holding it up. Help!

you must remove the door handle cups, a huge pain in the ass...

there are two hidden upper and lower clips holding it in, i recommend the small screwdriver you use for adjusting sunglasses.

but i dont think you need to remove the whole door panel to access the mirror, just pull off the plastic "sail" piece

Thanks, we did get it eventually! The clips holding in the door handle were bent, and it took us awhile to get those loose, then the door came off. We also found out in the process that the doorknob previous owner had smacked the mirror so hard that it bent the rubber metal window housing unit, and any mirror that I have on there will not be straight. Its so frustrating! So I need to buy a new housing since there's really no way we can put it back into the correct shape. I have less wind noise now with the new mirror, but I still have noise. I also discovered I have a slight leak on the corner of the windshield. I'm hoping to take it by a glass place one of these days and have them reseal it. You know, it always seems to be something! :-(
