Girls Car?

Girls Car?

Postby krenshaw » Tue Oct 13, 2009 6:29 pm

I was wondering if any of you might have made this observation?
Have you all noticed that approx: 90 percent of people in the 2nd Gen Solara's are women? I didn't really, realize I bought a girls car until after I bought it, I think this theory does not apply as much to the generation 1 Solara's.

It seems to me especially here in TX, that if you are male you are most often in a truck, this I've noticed has to be much less true for CA and such.

I really don't give a crap about whether or not I drive a chick car, I like what I drive and that is all that matters. Why the hell should you care what people think about your car, they don't own it.

I dont think the Gen 2 looks like a girls car at all. Although it does if a girl is driving it. Take a look at PoshPepper's Gen 2. Shes a chick and it looks far from a girls car.

I would rock a Gen 2.5, but only when I get my Gen 1 SC'd, Snailed, and NO2!!! 8) 8) 8)

Welcome to SolarGuy, Texan. I'm from Alabama, and our females
here drive trucks as much as the males. I can tell that you are new by your
number of posts (4) as well as by your "observation." First of all, your
statement that 90% of the 2nd Gen Solara drivers are women is without
qualification because you did not specify which 90% of people on which
you based your findings. Is it 90% of the people in Texas, 90% of the
people in the country (which I doubt that your research was so far
reaching) or just 90% of the drivers that you have noticed since you
became one of us. I can only guess that it is my third example, and by
my own personal experience in the world in which I live, I will agree
with you. Nonetheless, you will find that the same is not true of the
members of this forum which seems to include both male and female members
from around the globe. Secondly, I agree with DriDed 100%. Unless your car is PINK
with a MARY KAY sticker on the rear and side windows,
it is probably the least gender-specific item you will ever own.
It is neither male, nor female (although there are plenty of guys who endear them
with a feminine nickname), and if you think you have a "chick" car,
then that's on YOU. My Gen2 Solara is all MALE, and the guys that
I know admire it as much as the CHICKS do. In fact, this
forum (and you are not the first to post such remarks) is the ONLY
place I've even heard this discussion. Enjoy your ride, man,
and forget about what other people think. :D jimmm

Girls may be the majority of owners, but it dosent make it a "chick car"

What matters is the CAR, not who buys it.

I have only once had someone say to me that its a chick car, then i told him what ive done to it and that got him quiet.

My dad's friend told me that my car is built for old people and ladies, I was upset for a while but the fact that he is a jackass who is over sixty years old,is infected with hepatitis C, and works at a school cafeteria, that made me think that there is really no point in getting angry.

Oh yea that Hepatitis C infected creepy old bastard drives a Mazda5, which I call a minivan just to piss him off.

i think my gen 1 is for guys or girls. this car is sporty, lexurious and fast. every girl and most guys that went in it comment on how they love it. i never, for one second thought it was a chicks car.

i do hate to see old people driving it though... thats the only thing.

PS. driving a truck does not make u any manlier btw.

i'm with you bud... but my car looks nothing like a chick car. What i AM proud to say though, is that after joining this forum and driving around town only findin oldass ladies and the such driving the gen 2, I FINALLY found some people my own age who drive the gen 2. I was cruisin the other day and this black gen 2 creeps up on me slowly, and there was a young black guy drivin it who gave me the 'wattup' head nod.. and another girl driving a dark blue one not far behind. OH WHATTA FEELIN!
