LOUD injectors

Postby NRDriver » Mon Oct 05, 2009 6:19 pm

i dont know if i will get anything usefull outta this post but i will ask anyways.

My injectors are ticking loud ass all heck. i know ticking from the injectors isnt uncommon but my car use to purr and now it just ticks. lol. yes i know it is the injectors(before you ask). I just did headgaskets on it and checked all valve clearances, all good. i can unplug an injector and here it go away. i took a stethascope to all of the injectors and it is definately them. i can even feel it when i put my finger on the injectors.

question is.... has anyone else had this problem. it seems like it gets louder as time goes on.

FYI. i do drive it like I stole it. i have hks ignition, 3" CAI, Jet chip, Datsrpipe, greddy exhaust, etc.

My only suggestion would be to send one or all of them in actually so http://www.witchhunter.com/ to have then tested and cleaned it they already have not been?

My injectors came with a sheet of how they performed when they got them, and how they performed once they were cleaned, etc.

That data table could help you solve any issues?

Are you sure the tick is the injectors and not the valves?

throw in a couple of bottles of injector cleaner, one stp & gunk together, fill it up and drive it until you need to fill up, and see if that quiets them down................... :drinking:

Ignore the ticking, it's normal. I would say that the combo of
the 190 + JETchip = faster/ harsher opening of the injectors
and therefore louder injectors.
Trust me, I'm a technician.

^I'll have to disagree. Many of us are flowing much more fuel w/o ticking problems.

My supra injectors sound like stock, but I had them cleaned by witchhunter and fit with stock o-rings before installing them.
