I think my wiring is messed up...possibly when the rats were calling my solara home. This isnt the first time this has happened either, but my car has only been sitting for 4 days, and I went to try to start the car and the battery was severely drained. It wasnt even making any clicking noises. Im terrible with wiring, can anyone give me a solid place to start?

oh yea and i used to have an alarm that has since been taken out. but i cant see from that what would be draining my battery?

could be a bad battery, the car was sitting for a long time, while you were doing the swap.

How long does everyone's battery while listening to music with car off?? I have 2 12's and mine lasts for about 45 minutes (ALMOST found this out the hard way, the car just BARELY started up).

This dosent seem normal to me because at my summer house theres a drive-in we go to, and the battery has never died (in the wrangler, and yukon) with the air conditioning fans going, and radio for 2 full movies.

You know, our stock Toyota batteries seem OK, until it suddenly dies. Mine was perfect then one day it couldn't turn the car on, without showing previous hints.

start pulling fuses. if your battery is dieing somthing is staying on. you can do a drain test. ( using the neg cable, hook your volt meter up in series i beleave its milli amps. the number is normally about 700 milli amps with nothing but the computer on. key in off position of course

I can wash and wax my car with the music on the whole time, (probably about 3 to 3 and a half hours) and although it turns over a little bit "slower" it will start right back up.

isn't that the original battery craig? if so then it's probaly just time... around here we're lucky to get 5 years out of a battery. the AGM battery in my miata lasted almost 8 years, but that's for 2 reasons: it's in the trunk, and it's AGM. trickle charger will keep it topped off, but doesn't guarantee it will HOLD a charge very long.

think of it like a bucket with a pinhole in it. you can fill it to the top w/ a garden hose, but if you let it sit long enough, it will eventually empty. top it off with a drive (run hose for a few mins) and it fills back up.

same thing with the battery. once they start dying, they just don't hold a charge. and yes it happens suddenly.

ok then it should be under warranty. :) but before you do that, take off the negative cable, then hook up a multimeter between the cable and the battery post and put the meter on amps. you should be at or below 0.5 amps. maybe even less considering everything inside your car is stock. if it's nice and low like that, then just go exchange the battery.

i've seen defective radios draw tons of power and kill batteries.
