I say NO! Flat black (matte) is more for fast, aggressive looking cars with sharp contours while the Solara is not. Regardless what finish you go for, get a kit, lowered, and rims. Just my 2¢.

its flat black...a paint job like that does not look good with spray cans, already tried it and i've seen many other attempts. The color is John Dear blitz Black and in some states it is illegal bcuz this color at night makes the car nearly invisible...another thing about this paint job is that it will cost about the same or sometimes more to get it done than a regular paint job. it actually even gets clear coat over the flat color. IMO the whole car should be done and i think any car with that color is nice. it looks even better when you have that color and them shinny vibrant colored rims.

here are some examples

Nice clarification, Mr_Krispy1183.
I suppose it would eliminate the need
for polishing and waxing, but does it
have it own set of maintenance problems?
I also vote for all or nothing.
As far as what's in and what's out,
I would leave that up to the individuals
to choose for themselves.
There is an old saying that goes,
"There is no accounting for taste."
In other words, if you want it,
it's nobody elses business.
If you don't ask, I won't tell. jimmm

I suggest doing the whole car. If you only painted parts of the lara, it would look like a rattle can finish, just my 2 cents.
