Satin black hood,roof and trunk?

Satin black hood,roof and trunk?

Postby Ilovemylara » Mon Sep 28, 2009 4:27 pm

Got an idea: do you guys think my car would look good with a satin black hood, roof, and trunk? Heres a POORLY photo-shopped image of what it might look like. Keep in mind it will have alot more "sheen" than this photo can depict. I would also paint the grill satin black as well.

The correct term is "matte" black, I believe.

And it will only look good over the whole of the car, not just the top half, IMO.

And completely off-topic, that picture is from a weekly car gathering here in SoCal :P

At any given meet, there is at least $3 million worth of cars in the lot.

There is a progressive lineup for such finishes. Said progression would be: flat, matte, satin, gloss in terms of sheen (from none to highest)

If my car ever needs a repaint I think I might actually go matte black.
I think it's only cool if the car is fast as hell though.
So for your car....no, I would keep it shiny.
Trust me, I'm a technician.

Definatly a lot of mixed opinions on this one. Perhaps I will paint the whole car. Yeah I'll get a kit first, and drop it. Don't worry guys, If I do, I'm definatly gonna use a paint gun, not rattle cans though.

I just saw a new GT-R in all flat black yesterday. Not my cup of tes, but still a very cool car.

I prefer a high gloss finish - all around

IMO do the whole car flat black, not just the hood.
My friend just turned his car to flat black, it was a pretty good job, until he got to the roof and ran out of paint.
