No, that's roughly 11mpg. Do you have any CELs?

you do have 176miles on the car, do some maintenance, oil, tranny, new air filter, sea foam, Pcv valve, clean throttle body, fill up on supreme. little stuff like that can make a difference

yes but you have a 4cyl.

our v6s can be thirsty. best i've ever got in my old 95 se v6 coupe (1mzfe auto) was about 27 mpg. best i've gotten in my 98 was 26 mpg.

around town i average 300-320 miles between fillups - from full to when the "feed me" light comes on. granted, my car is stickshift and supercharged.

worst gas mileage i ever got in any car was in my miata... but then again i spent the entire day on the track at texas world speedway. i got 12mpg. that was at full track speeds except for the cool down laps at the end of each session.

but back on topic - original poster - GO TO AUTOZONE and get your codes read - it's free there! you're just shooting in the dark till you know what trouble codes you have.

Man, this is the first time I think I've gotten better gas mileage than other people. When I drive my wife's V6 Solara, 5 speed, I get 24/29. When she drives it she gets 26/29, when it's kept up. Lately, it must need some maintenance, because we are only getting about 380-400 miles on a tank with mixed driving. We used to get something like 420-440. We used to get something like 460 - 480 on the highway with the cruise set about 8 miles over the speed limit. We haven't been on a long trip in a while though. I think 205 is just a little over half of what you should be getting.

I second this! Same figures on my 2002 SLE V6 convertible. Do the CEL check at Autozone as well. :)

same thing happend to my 02 Conv V6

Postby highmileage02sleConv » Fri Oct 09, 2009 4:02 pm

It could be a compression leak, was the brake master recently replaced or serviced?? When they replaced the brake master on mine in August, they kind of forgot to check the Compression Seals, which by the way according to my mechanic is as thin as a piece of A4 paper!

X2 !! just got mine fixed today after 2 months of that check engine light on from a p0135. i could notice a good increase in gas consumption. you end up paying more on gas than the cost of fixing it.

got mine for 88$ shipped from ebay instead of the +300$ from toyota
