So I went to a muffler shop today and was quoted $100 for 2.25" piping after the resonator and welding on a 2.5" muffler at the end of it.

Does this sound reasonable? Ive heard people paying only $60.

I had originally wanted to cut off right before the stock muffler and welding on the 2.5" muffler right there but he said the 2.5" diameter would cause a lack of back pressure...... Is he right or am I being duped?

with the cats you have back pressure, the 2.5 will not be a issue, i ran a 2.5 in from the y pipe , and had no issues, i think he's yanking your chain. :drinking:

^ ok thanks Bob.

I want to keep the stock cat and resonator so just welding on muffler will be fine correct?
