142 minimum with 178 maximum on the 4 cylinder

EDIT:

if compression increases after the oil is added, the piston rings are definitely worn

so 150 is good right? now if 178 is maximum then 200 is over doing it and if 200 stays, i would need to use higher grade of fuel right?

That oil wont stay in the cylinder for long, and your compression will drop back down to 150.

so my pistons are fine, if they are pumping 150psi in each cylinder and the minimum is 142, hmm how can i increase the compression, some say i need head work, do my intake and exhaust ports, and do the pistons, they said also that just doing the intake ports and exhaust will be fine.... if this is true then its going to be cheap increase in horsepower
