I got it to on my 2000 solara, the camry is basically the same for 2000 but I can check my gfs if no body has yet. Anyway very cool finding the right people to track down the source.

From Denso:
Hello,
Except for questions on our Aftermarket parts, DENSO is contractually prohibited from dealing directly with consumers. We must instead refer you to your vehicle's manufacturer with any questions you may have concerning your vehicle, repair and replacement parts. If your local dealership cannot help you, Toyota Customer Relations can be reached at 800-331-4331.

Best regards,

Strike Denso from the list. :evilbat:

This link is to the the factory where gen 1s came from in canada. They have a mussame there and I figured I would ask them too to see if they can clear this up.

Thank you for your recent correspondence.

Please be assured that it is our goal to assist our customers whenever possible; however, our Customer Interaction Centre is not equipped to provide the technical information that you require. We suggest that you discuss your inquiry with the Service Department at a Toyota dealership. They would be in the best position to advise you in this regard.

Thank you again for taking the time to contact us.

Sincerely,

:( I guess I should post what I was told. :(

Denso won’t put it in writing due to some kind of contractual obligation (sounds like BS to me). However, they told my local dealer that it is multiplier for the maintenance required light, that is not on our vehicles. It might be a measure in kilometers on when to trip the light that isn’t on the car. Default is 6 so that might equal 6,000 kilometers or about 3,000 miles.
I’m really not too sure about this information; it comes from a good source but…

:( Why would you want your Maintenance light on every 500 miles on the 1 setting, or 10,000 miles on the 20 setting?

:( Why won’t Denso just release the info in writing to confirm the statement?

:( If it is related to a Light not on our cars how do you reset the light?

:drinking: Apparently this can be found on 98-01 Solara, Camry, Sienna Van, and Corollas.

We appreciate your patience while we researched your concern.

We have further researched with our department's technical liaison and determined that function is sometimes used for diagnostics in other models. However, in the 2001 Solara there are no diagnostics available.
