Do u have a CEL? If so go get it read, maybe the ECU is dumping more fuel for a reason.

Go get the CEL read by autozone or similar store if you dont have access to an OBDII Scanner.

ur ecu takes care of the fuel trim, etc. Its the brain of the car, essentially (mini computer).


The problem may be that one of your [o2 / (A/F if your cali spec)] sensors needs to be replaced....or possibly blew a knock sensor (do u feel any power loss after 3k rpms?).

how much would it cost to get it replaced? i havnt really paid too much attention to any power loss/etc after. 3k. but i will try it out

Thats got to be the worst mpg I've seen posted in here! Your car is not injecting gas its got a team of midgits dumping buckects of gas into your engine, or possibly on the ground.

ECUs are not cheap, but you might get lucky and find a salvage one.

ur ecu shouldnt be at fault here...there is an issue elsewhere (thats the reason ur CEL is on).


Just go get it read and post up what codes you are getting from the CEL.
