2000 California Camry?

Okay I just found the window sticker to my Camry 1MZ-FE 5-speed. It was produced at TMM in Georgetown, KY and was shipped to Redwood City (bay area) under the optional equipment it reads FE 50 state emissions. I was under the impression all cars headed to Califonia would get A/F sensors. I just bought a month ago two new OEM A/F Toyota sensors.

Why does a 2000 California Camry have O2's instead of A/F sensors?

Cause every 5-speed 1MZ I know of was O2, while the Auto's were either O2 or AF.

yea, i dont think they have Cali spec headers for a 5speed. post a pic of ur OEM headers....they are a dead give away on what type of system u have.

I did not know that, I assumed being a California car it would use A/F. I guess you didn't see the picture of the shifter when you made this comment.

^ No, you need the Fed Spec headers. And the cali Spec on Boost is AWFUL as well. You'll need to swap to Fed Spec headers for boost if you do anything over 4PSI.

I guess I have some A/F sensors to sell now. The good news is I have a better stock setup for boost now. Thank you for answering the question.

toyotas use both 02 sensors and a/f ratio sensors depending on the location of the sensor. they work in conjunction with each other
