Shopping for wheels

Well, depending on where you are you can look a little bit out of state for the rims haha. and if you're just looking for rims, you can get 4 of them for around $500-650 brand new easily, and tires as low as 60 or 80 bucks a pop, and a lot of tire stores do buy 3 get 1 free deals.. or even if they dont, get a set of new rims for 500 and slap some $80 tires on em, thats like 820 bucks for beautiful rims and tires with 100% tread haha, and 180 bucks left for an intake, window tint, or a really really nice set of floor mats.. or whatever you please haha

but yeah, just keep an eye on craigslist and you'll find something! I find a ton when I search "5 lug rims" or even "18" rims"

The only advice I have is get them in person.
Also, put them on your Lara before you purchase.
Let him ride with you so you can see how they ride.
Ive bought many wheels that way.
That way you know real quick if the rims are bent in any way by how it rides.

+2, bent rims = worthless... should be easy enough to tell when they get balanced, ask the mechanic if you're bringing it to a shop.

If the person refuses then I wouldn't buy 'em.

Thank you guys for all the good information. One more thing: I have noticed a lot of rims where the seller is like: "bent just a little, easy fix" or "gotta be sanded and/or polished" or painted or powdered or repaired and stuff like that.

So my question is: who does these repairs? Personally I don't know where to even get these things done. Tire shops? Paint shops? Machine shops?

any rims with above mentioned problems are not worth buying...you could get a whole set of 4 rims with tires for under $800. @ www.wheelmax.com..That includes tuner lugs, hub centric ring (which you will most likely need) and balancing of wheels.

If you buy used wheels you will still need to buy the accesories i mentioned above which will easily be at least $100.

in my opinion..its never worth buying used wheels off of someone unless they are direct fit for your car and are in great condition

Wow wheelmax has good prices. I am now considering an 18" wheel/tire package for 861.47, (the cheapest I could find on there). Here are my rim choices:
http://www.wheelmax.com/product.asp?ProdID=15927
http://www.wheelmax.com/product.asp?ProdId=15973

But then I found this lol http://www.b15sentra.net/forums/showthread.php?t=86094

thats funny...i ordered from them before and never had a problem but i guess just use your judgement. I still think its better than buying used rims from a private seller.
