Anyone looking for Adjustable Cam Gears?!

Anyone looking for Adjustable Cam Gears?!

Postby NonStopTuning » Wed Aug 12, 2009 6:46 pm

NST has built custom adjustable cam gears over the past few years for the following engines...

Toyota 4AGE
Toyota 4AGZE
Toyota 1JZGTE
Toyota 2JZGTE
Toyota 7MGTE
Toyota 7MGE
Nissan SR20DET

Would anyone here be interested in something similar for the 1MZ?
And since I know this will be asked...
custom cam gears usually cost $250 to $300 per set and require a few weeks to build and ship.

My only question is, have you tested it on a 1mz? What power gains have you recieved, what issues have come up?

No, we have not done any testing with cam gears on the 1MZ.
This is a feeler thread to see if anyone needs/wants such a product.

If it were shown that they did produce any gains - assuming the price is comparable to the other pulleys - I'd buy them.

I too would be interested, although I'm sketched out by the fact that the 1MZ is a V6, and the rear bank would be a pain in the ass to access/adjust.

you can adjust timing.

you know what would be even cooler? if someone had made, and tested aftermarket Cams for the 1mz.

I read this article once about the 1mz, they tore it down and found some weakpoints.

one of which were the sleaves, and the other is that the ports (intake or exhaust) are no where near matched. Matching the port sizes will allow for such a great gain. I believe Gabe has port matched one of his blocks?
