Custom 1MZFE Engine Covers

Custom 1MZFE Engine Covers

Postby 99BlackSandv6 » Wed Aug 05, 2009 8:23 pm

Hey everybody,

I have made a custom engine cover for my car, and I can make many more if people are interested. They are available in polished aluminum (pictured), Brushed Aluminum, Mirrored Stainless Steel, or Custom Painted.

I will NOT require anyone to prepay to get a cover made. I can make as few or as many as I have orders for, since I am making these myself. I can make a batch every 2-3 weeks from start to finish so that gives you an idea of the time frame.

NOTE:
Because this is not a TRD part, I will NOT be putting a TRD logo on any of them, sorry but it would be illegal (feel free to do that if you want after I get it to you). Stamping is pretty much out off the question, tooling costs alone would be in the thousands of dollars. So unless I can get several hundred people to prepay for stamping it won't happen.

As for custom paint, I am very confident in being able to create custom logos for anyone that wants it. For example if you want your name, SolaraGuy, your screen name, or just about any color to match an underhood color scheme. I can do pretty much any of that. Logos are fine too as long as they are not tradmarked (as long as no laws are broken). Also if you want some funky design or something we can try to get that figured out too.

So if anyone is interested or has any questions or suggestions go ahead and let me know.

Pricing: NEW PRICES!!!
Aluminum Polished (as pictured) $60
Aluminum Brushed $70
Stainless Steel Mirror Polished $80
Custom Paint...Inquire as to Specific Cost for your Application
Prices include new Stainless Steel hardware!
Prices are plus shipping.

Finally some sample finishes. These are the Aluminum Polished, Stainless Steel Mirror Polished, and Aluminum Brushed. There is a beach towel in the reflection to show the difference in reflectiveness of the finishes.

I guess stamping is out of the question, huh? Unless I do it myself.

Very nice man.
It accents the engine bay very nicely.
I'll pick up a Aluminum Polished when i get a chance.
Does it clip on the back like the OEM cover thing.

Well Lee, my dad has done some toolin within the last few weeks, and it cost him $6500 just for the dies. I'm not kidding. So yeah, sorry I can't swing that. If people are only interested in getting a TRD logo, I may consider. However it is technically illegal. :(

Hey Sleeper, to answer your question, no. It doesn't clip on, but I assure you that it sits nice and tight and won't rattle or wear anything out. It looks good at all angles too, Like the TWS unit.
BTW the included hardware will be much nicer than the nasty slotted screws I found at Lowe's. They will be hex type heads like the oem units except Stainless.
Trust me, I'm a technician.

Sweet man.
You should think about gettin' some finishin' washers like these:

^^
These wit the SS hex bolts would make it really stand out.

Dang you and I must have the same taste, haha. I was going to do that, no joke. It would be cool to have as an accent color or personal touch of sorts. I was looking at PWJDM because they have the fender washers, but those are too short. and PWJDM doesn't really support Toyota so, who needs 'em right?

Yeah. lol.
I was thinkin' about doin' that to my engine bay to make it look nice.
My friend did it to his 4 door Civic, but he found a place here in OKC that sells them cheapers, will have to find that place, and check it out.

Yeah Password: JDM is alittle pricey, IMO.
