To answer questions its one of those steering cap things that is on top of my existing mess of a steering wheel. I'm gonna save myself the trouble of rewrapping it. And thats my girlfriend's purse she was riding shotgun.

does this cover the back of the steering wheel as well? or does it just cover the side facing the driver?

Yea it covers the part facing the driver. That is what I bought except I got it for the 02-04 camry since the steering wheels are the exact same. And it matched the interior very closely

Well Jimmm, I got the car used with 80000 miles on it, so believe me the damage was already done. :)
