Red's (possible) f/s thread BIG PICS 2002 125,000 miles
I apologize if this post has undertones of anger and frustration, but I just had this entire thing thing typed and ready to go and my stupid little netbook closed the damn tab.
I’ve owned this car since March of 2006, when we got it from Lindsay Lexus in Alexandria Va. I bought it with 85,000 miles on it and a rebuilt engine. That means new internals, new seals, new timing belt, the works etc. If you’re wondering why, the previous owner had cocked it up and we had a friend at the dealership who hooked me up. Since then I’ve put countless hours into cleaning, maintaining and modifying this car into what it is today. This being said – it has also proven to be a nightmare for me.
My dad backed into it again this morning with his Dinan 3, and its just the straw that broke my back… I’m looking into different car now, maybe a 1.8t GTI. I WILL fix the damage from this morning before I sell the car, but the rest is up in the air. Allow me to explain.
Some of you might remember the long sorry tale of events that has seemed to trail me in this car, here is a quick recap:
Previous damage which needs to be fixed:
- Front passenger side where the girl on the bicycle ran into me at the stop sign. Front valence needs repainting, I just replaced both turn signals, and the hood is dented
- Front driver’s side where the guy in the jacked up f150 ran over the other corner
- Pinstripe of missing paint from where the monstrous pothole pulled my car off the road into the guard rail. No metal damage or dents, it just shaved the paint.
If the buyer would like, I would gladly take my car into my body shop (who has worked on it since I got it) and have them fix it completely. They do phenomenal work and the owner and I are friends so he’ll cut me a good deal.
Now onto the good list –
General:
- WELL kept black leather interior
- 125,000 miles (only 40,000 after rebuild)
- new tires, oil, wiperblades, turn signals, etc. etc. etc.
Mods:
Suspension:
- Tokico blues 25,000 miles on them
- Eibach pro sport springs 25,000 miles
- TRD RSB 30,000 miles
Engine:
- Cp-E non-tunable intake
- Greddy EVO II catback (yes I have an oldschool muffler and it sounds lik sex.)
Wheels:
- Painted calipers for shits and giggles
- ASA JH8 18’’ rims, I have 5 so there is a full size spare
- BRAND NEW (1200 miles) Yokohama Avid H4s tires
Interior:
- http://solaraguy.com/viewtopic.php?t=40 ... udio+build
- Alpine type R components in the doors
- Alpine Type S coax in the rear deck
- Alpine V-power 4 channel amp to power those
- JBL tweeters in custom fiberglassed pods next to headrests
- Lanzar audio 2000 watt amp
- Kenwood KFC-w3011 twelve inch subs in a custom fiberglassed box
Mics:
- Silverstar headlights
- LED tail/reverse/license plate lights
- tinted tails
- debadged
The car has been VERY well kept DESPITE all the forces in the universe conspiring to destroy it. I pride myself on how clean it is as a daily driver. I JUST changed the oil last week with castrol GTX 10w-30 full synthetic
In the pictures above the damage I outlined earlier IS THERE. This is still VERY MUCH a 20 foot car. I am just a perfectionist and want to clearly outline what is wrong with the car.
I honestly DO NOT WANT TO SELL THIS CAR. But, I am graduating this year and I can't deal with it any more. I especially don't want to sell this car to some random private party or trade it in to some crappy little lot, I would sleep a lot better at night knowing that a fellow SG is looking after her.
If there is serious interest then I will be willing to sell before September pending me finding a new daily driver.
I am asking for $7000 with just the rear fixed, but would be happy to get the front fixed at well at the buyers expense. (unless you know someone who does great work as well and will cut you a deal I can probably have it done for less)
