Engine Squeaky noise

Engine Squeaky noise

Postby Solara08861 » Mon Jul 13, 2009 9:34 am

The last week or so every time I start the car I get this nasty squeaky noise coming from the pulleys area. It goes away while driving. I have put wd40 to lubricate them but the squeaky niose comes back. Also my dad has an 05 Corolla and his car is doing the same thing.
Has anyone had this problem?

My 04 has 95,000 miles and my dad 05 Corolla has 13,000 miles.

Don't use belt dressing. It will make it worse. Try tightening the belt. You make sure you have the right tension?

I agree the belt dressing made it louder. I will take it to the mechanic this weekend so he can tighten the belt.
