^^^ TA-DA!!!

100,000 miles and STILL running GREAT and looking GOOD!

"I love what you do for me, TOYOTA!" LOL!

...on an interesting note, within ONE WEEK (six days) of the 2004 Solara reaching the milestone... my FOURTEEN-PLUS YEAR owned 20-year old 1989 SUPRA turned the SAME TICK on the clock just this week! WOOT!

The Supra ODO is a little off, as I was turning fast-clock with different rear-end pig ratios over the years, but it's a milestone, all the same!

Image

^^^ When I looked UP and REALIZED that the Supra was at 100k, I DIDN'T HAVE MY CAMERA WITH ME and I was 30 miles from HOME! DOH!

I dug around in the car, and my spare camera was NOT there either, but I DID find a chincy toy "Hello Kitty" digital camera my daughter left on the picnic table one day as it started to rain, and I had grabbed it running out to the car! It was in the center console, with NO batteries, and NO memory card. I sat there by the side of the road, 100,000 miles on the clock of this, my most prized possession (material) as I contemplated my dilemma... and then began to dig around some more... and VIOLA! I found an SD memory card was IN my GPS NAVI... so now I just needed POWER to the Hello Kitty camera! Let's see... TWO TRIPLE A's! Hmmm... digging in my tool bag in the back, I found a FLASHLIGHT (LED-type) that used THREE AAA batteries! WOOT! Checked the light, it was dim... :(

...so I took them out, put two in the camera, and NOTHING! I fiddled with it, smacked it once, opened the lens cover... and BEEP! HELLO KITTY shows up in the display! I held it up, snapped ONE SHOT and the camera went DEAD!

Didn't know if the picture had been taken until that night, when I put the card in my PC and checked...

YESSSS!!!!

Here's to major milestones in our automotive lives!:chug:

Seriously... you don't know the HALF of it! That was the SHORT version!

I actually stopped at the end of the drive to the parking place at work as I left, as I saw the ODO and realized what was up... but plant was shut down, only ONE accountant back in the offices, and I was afraid to turn back to see if HE had a camera phone... (My phone is a BlackBerry WITHOUT camera DELIBERATELY as I have to get access into restricted facilities at times, and CAN'T take the phone if it HAS a camera... so the World Edition NO camera model for me! DOH! Only time I regretted it...) but I USUALLY ALWAYS carry a camera, and HAD INTENDED to put it in the car for JUST THIS PURPOSE, then FORGOTTEN until I realized I was going to MISS IT!

I sat in the drive for several minutes weighing my options, then "gave up", but as soon as I began to drive away down the road, I HAD TO STOP as I looked at the ODO and KNEW it was going to "ROLL" (like a toaster about to POP!) and couldn't bear to do it after waiting for THIS MOMENT for SOOOO LONG! Considering the Solara had JUST turned, and how monumental the coincidence of BOTH TOYOTA COUPE's turning in the same week... I just HAD to "McGuyver" SOMETHING if possible! I was ready to THUMB some passerby down and have a CELL PHONE SHOT taken and SENT to MY phone just to get the shot!

Seriously thankful for that goofy pink rhinestoned Hello Kitty camera now!

...I'll take a pic of the camera to add to the story later...

Congrats on finally getting your Toyota engines broken in.

You should be able to at least double that number.

Yup! I put 227k miles on my first Supra! Then SOLD it and it still RIPPED!

...the '91 Camry had 254k when I sold it, I think... and about 50k were mine, and 190k my mom and sister. (They bought it with 14k for a steal!)

Just put Mobile 1 5w30 + M1 filter + K&N in my wife's FJ Cruiser today, too. Runs SO SMOOTH! :D

I'll buy her lease-end $13k buyout deal on it, and own a low-mile FJ that runs perfect. WOOT! (I'd love to tip 300k with the FJ... that would be cool!)

...check with me in 20 years...

my milestone was 200km... so you're almost there.

since 220km, i need to fix one small thing after the other... its a pain, but worth it.
