About a month ago I swerved to miss a car that backed out of their driveway and I hit this guys trashcan that was sitting on the edge of the road. Not really much harm done except it knocked the passenger side mirror off. Well it really just knocked the glass part out of the mirror. Needless to say it was driving me crazy not having a mirror on that side so I ordered a new one. Just got it in and put it on. The new one is black and I have to say I think that black looks pretty good with the silver. Here's where I need your opinion. Should I get them both painted black or should I go with the factory silver. On a side note by brother in law is painting them so cost isn't an factor.

I would just get it painted silver. lower model hondas, mitsu's and GM cars had Nonpainted mirrors and I never liked it. But if you like it then.. go ahead!

I like the silver best. I thought black splash guards would look good on my car, but when I found the Desert Sand Mica ones, they look much better. Like Ilovemylara said, the color-matching mirror looks more upscale. Sorry I missed you in Nashville last week, but I'll be back, and I won't forget my cell phone next time. Jimmm

Black will look great with tinted windows and black roof.

Personally, I like Gen2 mirrors. Body-colored, but with black base.

I prefer the silver, but don't mind the black.

Are there any side-view mirrors that fit on the solara that can FOLD? I think that is one thing that I HATE about this car.....the non-folding mirrors.

I agree, Nick. Even my 2001 and 2003 Kia Optima's had that feature. My 2004 Solara mirrors seem so vulnerable. Jimmm

I think if you got the money, paint it.

otherwise, it reminds me of nemo and his little fin!
just a bit different than the rest. also think about how many people will see both sides at the same time!

and how come you didnt just order new glass?
I just got a new passanger side one for my gen 2 was
about $35 at toyota
Alpine + Dynaudio = Sonic bliss.

I have the silver also, and I was considering doing my mirrors black to match my roof.

if you're lazy like me, just leave it. the only people that would notice is you and everyone in front or behind you. no one on the sides would though.

painting the driver's mirror shell blank and black vinyl A pillars with tinted windows would look bad ass.
