SLE owners....HVAC question

SLE owners....HVAC question

Postby Chinky420 » Wed Jun 24, 2009 8:08 am

so, i have noticed this over the past couple years, but it's never bugged me enough to remember to ask until now.

this is in regards to the premium HVAC system in the SLE. i've noticed that when the a/c is on, sometimes the air circulation will switch itself to re-circulate instead of fresh air. it does this all by itself, and sometimes it will let me switch it back to fresh air...but most times it won't. if i turn off the a/c button (just blowing air now) then i can switch it back to fresh air, but as soon as i hit the a/c button on again, it forces the re-circulation.

anyone else notice this or did i get the short-bus-special?

i'm not even talking about using the AUTO button.

i never use it...it pisses me off.

even still, the air-source will force itself to re-circulate, without the auto on.

....the reason i singled out the SLE hvac owners is because i'm pretty sure the non-premium hvac has a physical left/right switch that is manually moved, while we just have a button to toggle back and forth.

Oh,the reason it does that is because it chooses the source that is closest to the temp you set on the knob so the system doesnt have to work so hard i noticed with mine if i have the temp setting @ 72 it will stay on recirculate but if i turn it to 73 it will use outside air but it will let me change it back

the SLE's have a few thermostats you might hear them buzz while the ac is on auto (HVAC is found in large buildings) Those guys help your cars digital ac known when to turn on and off and if it should use outside air or recalculate to bring the interior to the desired temperature.

I love mine; I leave it on auto all the time. I only turn it off on nice NC days or to throw down.
