i think in mine which DOES have the trd lsd in it, there was a bar. don't quote me on that tho.
i know in the miata the way to tell what diff you have was to see through it - bar in center = open diff, no bar = torsen. i made sure to pull the shafts from a junkyard car i found which i thought might have a torsen... and it did. and i got it for $200 WITH axles! junkyards FTW!
btw craig - good luck tomorrow. yes you can use regular axle grease on the shaft where the Throwout/release bearing goes. be sure to put a glob of it on the middle of the clutch fork, and on the arms where it holds teh TOB, and also on the dimple where the clutch slave cyl hits it. this will keep things quiet.
not sure what you mean about the threads on the clutch disk... i can't picture it. i have to work 9-2 tomorrow too... plus new baby duties... life got much more interesting for me on monday when my daughter was born!
