If you're going to run somebody do it from 25 mile roll and be 1st or 55 or 60 roll on 2nd don't forget to shift, that's where your car will pull it hardest. A 40 mile hour roll sucks there's no torque. And I'm talking about a auto.

I'm pretty much stock with a k&n stock air filter, and I had the muffler takin off and put dual exhaust dual tips and now that you mention it I don't think my trans down shifted it just reved up. I'm gonna look some stuff over and clean some sensors. Now I'm really leaning more towards doing a manual swap than any other mods.

I agree with everyone on that you should've beat the TC. Either your car is screaming for a tune up or your opponent honestly doesn't know he has a supercharger or turbo in his car lol. Like trdgreg said, play around with the auto tranny and treat it like a manual, just be careful cuz you dont wanna break it, you should be fine though since you know how to drive stick.

Ive been with Automatic Trans Solara for years to years, just traded in for a 5spd...hmm let see why he lost..

1: he left the O/D On -------------- 2 : He did not use the O/D properly

Im not sure about his car, for mine car, Shiftin and O/D is important if i want to kickass someone.

I turned OFF O/D always when at the Start Line, turn on O/D when i reach 50-55 mp/h so its about 70km/h, if i wanna pull harder, i turn off O/D, release the gas pedal and gas again, when about 60 Mp/h so around 90-95 km/h, "this way make u fast but will kill ur engine n trans"

If u know how to use it, it is similar to Standar 5spd, 5spd only fast at pickup, its like 9/10 not much different.

Ive tested with my friend Solara 2000 Auto with my 2001 Solara 5spd, he kicked my butt. No comment after all ! thats why my wife had the car now.

But in the racing game, nobody knows which car will win at 1st. So try again 2morrow bro, see if ur car awake :) :evilbat:

PS: oh forgot to tell u, if u wanna race with an Automatic Trans Solara gen1, use 10-30W Synethic Mobile 1 oil. Dont use Castrol on an Auto. 5-30w will is a little push to the cylinders. Dont lose faith bro lol sometimes my car is weak as 4cyl Honda Civic 1994.

I would try to reset your ecu. DUMP! you might have a code or your ecu might have learned some self preserv behavior. either way couldn't hurt if your car is slugish in the shifts.

Stopped tc's gti stage 2 and rustangs on a regular, AT V6 no SC. :evilbat:

The Overdrive only kicks at normal operating temp..also try taking out the floor mat which also blocks full throttle...auto TCs are slow because I use to drive one but sold it due to tuition...

For natural hidden hp gains but not to damage any parts of the engine, go tuned-up ur car, change, air filter, gas filter, spark plugs, use only Synethic oil and Premium fuel, as peoples said, check all the hose and clean the throtle body if u have some money, get Injen Short ram intake and take out the STOCK air box. Do the flush for Fuel injection, coolant if u can not gain any hp but its good for ur car.

Auto-tran is good with Premium fuel, dont touch the air filter box or dont do anythin to it like someone said in the other topic, gain more hp or make more noise something like that, "Unless u r the super car mod, the pro" u'll get some problem later on.

I don't think it's that surprising. Autos rob 1mzs of more power so then you're really not making much more than the TC, and the TC is about 200-300 lbs lighter. Plus the gearing for TCs is pretty short. I know it seems to be the norm for 5 speed TCs stock to run 15.7s give or take. Seems what most people have run with auto 1mzs on here and those ones were modified too I thought
