Buying a horn, need some tips

Buying a horn, need some tips

Postby mazen222 » Mon Jun 15, 2009 8:56 am

My horn stopped working, so i'm buying a new one from ebay.

I just want to make surei order the right stuff. I'm looking for the lawdest horn possible with a low tone... this i can find out with decibells and the Hrz. I would like to have it as a plugnplay, i dont want to waist time installing this and changing wires

It has to be 12V right? what else should i worry about?

any tips/comments would help.

THanks,
Mazen

Hella Supertones. Fine using your stock relay and power wire. You just need to make your own ground wire (simple and fast).

i suggest you go to a local auto parts store so you can try it on to make sure the plugs fit and you like the sound output..

1st i bought a loud air horn type but it dindt fit..returned it

then i got one tha fit but saunded weak...

a week later a got a

3rd horn of different brand and it fit and i like the sound output..

70 $ + shipping for a horn is pretty expensive IMO...

i was hoping for something in the 50$ max..

I'm leaning towards those air horn :evilbat: They are cheaper, and i'm pretty sure the sound will be more than loud :D

Personally I hate high pitched horns, I went to the junkyard and pulled a horn out of an F150 and it was plug and play. Sounds like a truck which is the way a horn should sound IMO

I just went to my local canadian tire, and got a set of freeway blaster 132db horns. They're lots louder than stock, and they sound like a newer BMW, or Audi.
