So i noticed when i first start the car..theres a puff of white smoke that comes from tail pipe..not steam this is a oil burning type..now my question is what can cause this? 98000 miles. friend of mine said it could be the rings are failing. this happens after i park the car for about 4 -8 hours..then i fire up for my next day and sure enough theres a puff of smoke. any ideas anyone

Have you dogged the engine alot in its lifetime? Im at 123,838 and I have yet to encounter any problems of this sort, and I tend to be heavy on the pedal at times...

I bought the car used so not sure how previous owners kept the car. but would any oil additive like Lucas help?
