Level Ten Tranny Rebuild

I was wondering, someone (I can't remember who) said that if u get the level ten rebuild, and have your torque convertor rebuilt, u can run boost inbetween boosts.. is this true.. also, how would u modify the EBC to do this? Im going to get the Rebuild done by a buddy of mine an a few months... He said its pretty easy, but thats coming from someone who will graduate from Wyotech soon... Im just curious how u would modify the EBC to do this, how hard it would be on the tranny, and how it would benifit.. thanks

Scott, I'll offer my limited knowledge and understanding. Many I'm sure will say (and they are correct) that you shouldn't boost between shifts, it's bad for the transmission. With the upgraded valve bodies and torque converter the shift is much quicker and stronger and "better" able to take the load. My understanding is that it was as simple as not connecting 1 of the wires or grounding something. There is a message on this board about it. I know some people disabled the EBC and are running it that way and I don't think they've had trouble with it. Hopefully someone that has done it will comment. I want to follow this because next year, I plan to do the same thing. -JoeB

for boost between shifts just install the supercharger EBC as if your car were a manual, the directions come with the s/c

was not that the instructions to get boost in first gear?

i believe that if you want to have boost during the gear change (which i dont recommend,) is by taking the EBC out of the ecu.

I have my EBC wired for manual in my auto and it still cuts boost on shifts according to my gauge. I do see boost in first, but it drops with the RPM drop when it shifts.

Ragtop George did this. Check out this link http://www.zer0.info/solaraguy/viewtopic.php?t=1097&highlight=ebc .

He's been running with boost between gears for a while with no problems. I'm not going to try it until after the Level10 upgrades. The shifts are just so mushy, I'm afraid to try... -JoeB
