Differential Diagnosis people:

What systems could be affected by raised temperatures? What could be causing the car to behave as if its overheated?

Read the post - he said it gets sluggish AFTER the car has warmed up.

my 05 does that too... Once it has warmed up a bit its really sluggish and does not want to shift gears...One time it even redlined trying to shift into 3rd... Does anyone out there know what might be causing this? Ive taken it to toyota and they charged me 400.00 to reset the computer saying it was just the VVTI adjusting itself

So, was it fixed after the $400 injection?

I believe if you paid $400, you should have your car fixed. If not, complain to the BBB.
