After looking at some of your rides with the badges gone and the pinstriping gone I had to do it myself. I think it turned out pretty good. I really appreciate the tutorials and all the lessons learned on this forum. Everyone keep up the great work. Here are some pics of the finished product.

And before you say anything, yes I know the grill looks like crap. I am hopefully going to get it painted in the next couple of weeks.

Yeah it's some kind of silencer. The exhaust is the Megan Racing Drift Spec. I really like the sound.

nice job.

fwiw, i had the same thing happen to my grill - for a quick fix, pick up a can of black spray paint. take the grill off (i think all you need is a socket wrench w/ 10 or 11mm driver & maybe a screwdriver) & scrape/sand any flaking paint (use a really fine sandpaper if you go that way, or some steel wool). i covered the emblem with masking tape to keep the chrome on that. i put about 3 or 4 coats on it w/ ~20 minutes of drying time in between. all in all it took me about an hour. overall i'm pretty happy with the results. i was going to invest in a custom grill, but i like the way it looks, so i think i'll keep it.

sorry about the crappy pic - camera phone (plus it's getting a little dark out here).

Thanks for the feedback everyone. Much appreciated.

mac-phisto I am taking a similar route, but luckily I got a friend whose a bodywork guy and he is going to do the painting for me. The plan is to paint (whatever was chrome before) to match the color of the car. I'll post pics once it's done.

~SolaRaSpeed~ the Rims are Momo V10s. The size is 17x7 42mm offset.

I just peeled the pinstripe off very slowly. It of course left the adhesive residue, but it came off very easily with some goof off. I then hit it with some wax and that was it. There is a very slight shadow, but you can't see it from more than a foot or so away and even then it is pretty light and you have to be looking for it.
