DIY Intake Heat Wrap: $10

Works on anything that has an exposed tube, longer tube = worse heat soak.

My point exactly, I really don't care how it looks, I'm all about performance. I'll never compete in a car show and the only people looking under my hood is me and my mechanic. Besides......I like burritos.

I was looking into the asbestos wrap for my intake a while ago, never got around to it... lol

Might buy some though, I have to put in Dat's Y pipe with fed spec headers, I might wrap these bad boys up.

eh, I manage to get about 360-400 miles per tank.... so that's 21.8-24.2 respectively, each refill was 16-16.5 gallons, so I'm going to guess that it is possible to attain 30mpg... however, you have to do some work, lower intake temps, possibly lower fuel temps, use low friction oil, etc, etc, etc....

my car runs on 93 octane only, I use Castrol Syntec 5w-30, with lucas oil additive, occasionally I put in the fuel additive. the transmission, since its auto has the regular stuff in there, with the Lucas oil addtive for auto tranny's. I have no SC, but hopefully will one day. But for now the Injen with CAI, Greddy EVO 2, will do... oh yeah, I romp on it a bit, but not excessively, I commute about 60-70 miles a day, 5 days a week... so if you figure I get to use my tank per week of work.... it's doing good, oh yeah, my engine has 169k miles on it... still ticking.

somethign easier would be to buy some thermal paint stuff and coat the inside/outside. It's like a poormans ceramic coating lulz. Also I call BS on the super drop on intake temps of 30*+ Not saying you are making it up but I'd have to see measured results before believing.

I have a scanguage to measure IAT and short ram vs. CAI isnt that much of a difference. 5*+ max difference not the amazing 30*+ drop. Maybe for a turbo but not N/A intakes
