Rear Pads

Postby wrigley » Sat May 09, 2009 2:20 pm

My 1999 Solara has 323K, I recently started too changed the front pads myself with no problems. When I change the pads on the back, caliper will not go back because the pads seem to be too thick? It's only a couple of millimeters thick. I tried getting different pads, but have the same result.

Any help would be appreciated.

The pads are not too thick!
I had the same problem before, and I found out that it's the pin that slides back and forth froze.
Give it a good whack with a mallet or hammer + block of wood and it should come out. Make sure you lube it when you reinstall it.
Good luck!
