At the local pull-a-part they have both es300 and gen3 camry wagon. I was wondering which one is better to pull rear disk brakes from.

Gen 3 wagon had 2 diff sizes of rear disc, so pull the ES300 ones to be safe.

Just to make sure, your wanting to swap on the larger rotors, right? And it needs to be the 92-96 ES300 if thats the case.

Just wanted to make sure. :)

Well, I have drums in the back now and was looking to swap for rotors and I read that es300 has a larger rear rotors, so I guess my answer to your question is YES and it is a 92 es300

Are there twin piston rear calipers? I think es300 has single. Or are you talking about the front? I was wondering about the front ones are they larger, better (twin piston? I haven't checked) etc?

No the twin piston caipers are for the front.
If you see the calipers like this:

Then they are twin piston calipers.
The twin piston calipers are bigger, and wit the brake pad it has more surface area of contact than the OEM single piston front brake pads.

I just found your post about brake upgrade. What's all I need from the front? Just caliper and bracket? Are the front rotors the same on gen 1 solara and es300?

I've tried to research, but I couldn't find any info: would LS brakes work?

I see.
Calipers, brackets, bolts, and the wire clips.
Front rotors are the same.

I don't think the LS brake will work.

Today I pulled rear brakes off 92 es300. Do es300 have front twin piston calipers? The one I pulled rear brakes from didn't, they were single piston.

If I do get a twin piston setup for the front, should I use proportioning valve from es300 or gen3 v6 xle that I'll get front calipers from.

Nice man.
Dude, look at my picture i posted, if the front ones on the ES300 is like the ones in the picture i posted then it's twin piston.
From the factory most cars come wit single piston in the rear.

You don't need a proportionin' valve.

I've read several post suggesting proportioning valve. Did I miss something?

Well, I went to another pull-a-part and got front twin piston setup from 95 avalon.
Now, I guess, I'm ready for full brake overhaul. Going to get some brembo blanks and some pads (don't know which ones yet).
