Do you guys think I can put some sort of the metal shim on top of the rear strut mount to raise the rear a little, so the drop matches the front?
I'll most likely be using Tein S, but I hear that unlike on v6, drop on 4 cyl. will be uneven.

Don't do that. With the S-Tech springs, the rear is actually a tad bit higher than the front, so all you'd be doing is making the rear even higher than it already is. Tein built the S-Techs to even out the fender gap up front to make it match the rear. It's a little raked, but as you can tell from the picture in my sig, it looks good the way it is.

Your car is 6 cyl, mine is 4, you think that wouldn't make a difference in the front height?

I'm looking into buy either skl16 or skl20 kit,

SKL20-AUB00 is lister for 97-01 4 cyl. camry and lowers: F=1.5 R=0.6

SKL16-AUB00 is listed for 99-03 solara v6 and lowers:
F=1.7 R=1.4

I may just go with SKL20.

Do you know which kit you have?

I have SKL-16-AUB00. Regardless, inserting shims in the rear is just going to raise your rear end, which will already be higher than your front. A -1.5" drop up front, and -0.6" in the rear will be fine, since Tein staggered the drops so as to fill the larger front fender gap.

I've also read that H&R is lower in the front (again, V6 model), may be it will make it equal in the front and rear on 4 cyl.

Also dont forget to add in... if you have subs in your trunk that extra 50lbs will lower it a little more.

no weight adders in the trunk.

even though SKL20 is listed for 97-01 camry it still should fit solara, right?
