Endyn (http://www.theoldone.com) does job for Hondas mainly but their experience and results are just awesome. However, they don't polish since it increases the possibility of fuel droplets sticking into port walls (possible detonation chance increase).

If you are going to have ported heads, have somebody with knowledge on YOUR particular product. If 2AZ-FE engine is under your hood, any shop that has ported scion tC heads will do. If you have the 1MZ, I suggest Gabe.

a friend that know someone that does it cheap with good quality

Someone who has done perhaps 50 sets of heads for this specific engine, using a flow bench, then dyno-tested before trying the car out in 1/4 mile etc?

If not the results can be anything from "feels slightly better", to "feels different, but I'm not sure if it's faster" (very common) to "well, that was a whole lot of money wasted", and finally, the ever popular loud noises and "where's all that oil coming from?".

Making it faster on top end is easy: make all the holes bigger. Of course, everything below 4,000 is toast along with mileage.

This is a very low mileage engine in perfect condition, with less than 5% leak-down and 5% variation between cylinders, isn't it?

Both sets of 1mz heads i have run that were ported and polished were done by Carlos at Arietta Motorsports (shop now closed i believe). MY last 3mz/1mz hybrid had a set of ported and polished heads and lower intake. Def. a huge power gain when tuned.

I have a new guy doing porting for me , PM me for more info.

Thanks,

gabe

And that's how you find some - a guy who'se done this won't trust someone who can't produce good results.

Gabe and panic, thanks for joining in! Can't give the guy better input than what you've given him.

you'll have to add a fuel controller to add fuel after the porting to compensate for the increased airflow.
